A tragedy drove Deacon away from Triple C Ranch and a tragedy has brought him back.
Deacon hated Triple C Ranch because of what happen 6 years ago that drove him and his other brothers away and never look back. After the abduction and loss of his sister their family was never the same again. He tried and will do everything to remove the memory of that ranch even if it takes bulldozing the entire ranch.
Mac knew Deacon way back then. She even had a crush on him during her teenager years. Cass was Deacon’s younger sister and her best friend. Now, she is the foreman of Triple C Ranch and will do everything to keep the ranch and livelihood of the people in River Black, Texas.
This book always keeps me on the edge. The mystery. The questions on what really happen to Cass. Who is the killer? But aside from that, it keeps me wondering why Deacon hates that ranch so much. I am really a sucker for this kind of genre. I just can’t keep it down. The twist and surprises of the story is what keeps me keep on reading.
Though Deacon and Mac have different stance on what to do with the ranch, they can’t ignore nor control on what they feel towards each other. One taste and Deacon knew he cannot NOT have her. And the feelings are mutual. Mac knew that after this fight if she is not careful, she will get hurt. They will both end up hurting each other. Because of Deacon’s fixed decision to really destroy Triple C Ranch, Mac doesn’t have a choice but to leave.
But in the end, Deacon realized that even if he will destroy everything in Triple C he will always have the scar as a reminder of what happened. But if he will not move fast and be stubborn idiot, he will lose the love of his life. At the end of the day their love, his LOVE towards Mac won.
