I never thought I would love this series so much.
We have met Maverick in book #1. Know a little bit about his history and first love. At first, I’m not all that warm towards Ella. After almost a decade, Ella return to bury her mother.
The reason why Ella left is just keeps getting mysterious as the story keeps going on. Even with their history, Maverick is always at her rescue. Living in small town, people stares and criticize her for not coming back home to take care her dying mother without knowing or even asking WHY.
At some point, I really don’t want to like Ella, but WHEN I read the reason why she ran and didn’t return, you can’t help but admire her. How courageous she is, starting a new life, even if that is sacrificing to be with her love one. And that reason is not even what I was thinking! I didn’t see that coming. I know there is a big reason why she resent her mother so much, but I didn’t see that reason coming at all.
I Love these Slatter boys. Maverick is just persistent and never give up on getting Ella back. Despite how many times Ella tried to push him.
Ella and Maverick did get their happy ever after. But the Silver Star Ranch is shaken with another tragedy. It will continue in Marvel Slatter’s story.
