This book is actually the 2nd book of Until Series Spin-off, but the first book of Until Him Series.You can meet Ellie in the first book (Until July) when she was sold by her mother and captured. That is how she met July Mayson. Eventually they escaped and that was the first time she met Jax.
Ellie is a 24-year old mother of a super hyper & lovable 3-yr-old daughter Hope. She became a mother when she was just 19, given a sole custody of Hope after her brother & his wife died in a car accident. She is independent, hardworking and driven to give her daughter a better life than she and her brother had.
Jax came a from a loving family. I have read his story in Until Lilly (Until Series Book 3). He doesn't have a doting biological mother, but he never lacks motherly love from Lily. Growing up, all men in his family talked about "The BOOM". It may be a true or not, but he wants to have what is family and uncles have.
The night he met Ellie, he just can't seem to ignore her pressence. He was there when Ellie was hospitalized due to dehydration. She was so insistent to leave to be with Hope. Jax thought that Hope is a dog or a cat. But when Ellie said she is her daughter, Jax was dumbfounded. They left for Kentucky to get Hope and with the help of his parents, his mother, Lilly was able to convince Ellie to stay with Jax for the time being while the other suspect of their kidnapping was still on the loose. So Ellie and Hope ended up living with him.
After reading the Until Series, I have been excited to read their kids' stories. Jax is so like his Dad and Uncles. Alpha male through and through. Since he met Ellie, he claims her. He knows that he was owned by her. He helped Ellie and Hope settle down in their new environment. He provides what they need when he can. But Ellie is not used to people that is helping her and sharing the burden together. At some point she was even jealous that Hope seems closer to Jax.
Jax and Ellie's story is sweet and sexy. There was not a lot of misunderstanding or complications in this book. And even if there was one, she can't just ignore Jax. He is one persistent alpha male. At first, he was being patient in dealing with Ellie and Hope, because of what Ellie went through, but after his Dad's advice to just push her in the corner until she doesn't have any choice, Jax is done being patient. He claims what's his. And yet, he also gave her what's hers.
This series is one of my all-time fave, together with the Until Series. The heroes are just so HOT, manly, true Alpha Males but at the same time sweet, giver, provider and protector to their love ones. They fought for what they want but at the same time, being considerate on what their partners need. I LOVE IT!
I have read this book when it was released. I just happen to re-read it this week and since I just started this blog, I decided to write a review. This is somewhat a romantic-suspense kind of book with hot steamy scenes. If you are into romantic suspense books but at the same time sweet, sexy and fun, this is your kind of book!
Jax's antics when he is jealous is hilarious. I love it that you can still read other characters from Until Series and meet new characters in the upcoming books. It feels like I really know these people since I have read them in the previous books. Cannot wait for Until Sage (Until Him Book 2) & Until Ashlyn (Until Her Book 3). You can read some snippets of their stories in this book.
